The Friends of the Nambé Badlands works to preserve the beautiful, erosion-prone landscape of the Sombrillo Area of Critical Environmental Concern and Nambé Badlands.
We advocate sustainable uses, including responsible mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding. Our mission is to support resource protection and education that conserve this fragile landscape and secure public appreciation and enjoyment here for future generations.
We are a non-profit organization formed by mountain bikers, hikers, and naturalists.
This marvelous landscape is located off NM 503 (“The High Road to Taos”) south of Chimãyo and north of Nambé, New Mexico.
The Taos Office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is the official land manager.
